Where is your office?
How long are sessions?
The initial session is one hour and 15 minutes, the sessions that follow are 50 minutes. I am able to do both neurofeedback and psychotherapy in the 50-minute hour, or either modality on its own, depending on what’s needed.
Do you accept insurance?
I provide you with a superbill for reimbursement by your insurance provider.
How do I set up an appointment?
What is your cancellation policy?
I have a 48-hour cancellation policy, and missed appointments incur the full fee. I send out appointment reminders at the 48-hour mark to make it easier for you.
Are you going to zap my brain?
LENS neurofeedback reads your brainwaves and feeds them back to you on a wisp of electromagnetic energy which is a trillion times less strong than your cellphone, hence the name Low Energy Neurofeedback System.
While I have had clients joke and say that their therapist zaps their brain, I correct them, as this is not actually the case.
Will LENS neurofeedback cause any side effects?
LENS neurofeedback will not produce any new symptoms within you that weren’t already there. Because it works by giving you back to yourself, if you are a person who experiences headaches, you might have a headache after treatment – though with continued treatment, sometimes these symptoms will permanently clear.
I already have a therapist. Can I do just neurofeedback with you and skip the therapy?
Yes, we can just do neurofeedback and focus on the changes you are noticing within your brain and body in the session.
Emotions may come up as a part of treatment, and so talking about your process may naturally occur. It will be important for me to be able to communicate with your therapist, and I will provide you with a release form that gives your permission for us to discuss your case.
